Candida Cleanse Diet

It is normal to have Candida fungus in your intestines. Their levels are kept in check by the bacteria also present in your intestines. When the balance between Candida and bacteria becomes unbalanced, then the Candida grows unchecked.  Out of control Candida can cause multiple symptoms in the body such as fatigue, headaches, mood and concentration problems, allergies, frequent colds and intestinal problems.

How to get rid of Candida

You can get rid of Candida simply by following a Candida cleanse diet. You refrain from eating the things that Candida uses as a food source, and they get starved out of your body.  The types of foods that you need to eliminate from your diet are:

  • Fermented foods: cheese, beer, breads made from yeast
  • Starchy foods high in carbohydrate
  • Sugar and foods containing sugar

In order to remove sugar from your diet, you need to learn how to read package labels, and learn the many other names there are for sugar such as: dextrose, fructose, cane syrup and honey, just to name a few. On the other hand these are the types of foods you can have in your diet:

  • Non-starchy vegetables
  • Low carbohydrate foods such as unprocessed meats
  • Yogurt and eggs

If this type of diet is new to you, or you are having trouble living with the restrictions, then working with a dietician may have its advantages.  A dietician can help you learn how to make the most of what you can eat on the Candida cleanse diet, and work out strategies for dealing with other dietary situations.

Candida Diet Phases

Conducting a Candida cleanse diet in a process that takes place in three phases. How long you will have to stay on this diet depends on how long you have had the problem, and the intensity of your symptoms.

Beginning Phase: you must be very strict in sticking with the food plan and the choices you make.

Intermediate Phase: as you see an improvement in your symptoms, you can introduce some complex carbohydrates and fruits into your diet

Advanced Phase: If you have made a lot of progress in lessening your symptoms of Candida, then you can introduce more complex carbohydrates into your diet.

For all of the problems that Candida causes, all it takes is a change in your diet to remove it from your system.  It will not take too long for you to see a lessening of your symptoms.
